Day 1    Mexico City

Day 2    Mexico City - Teotihuacán - Mexico City

After breakfast about 9 am we will visit the Pyramids of Teotihuacán. Theotiuacán "The City of gods" is situated about 50 km to the north of Mexico City and once it was the biggest city of America. The original name of this huge city is unknown. Teotihuacán is the name the Aztecs gave to this city when they discovered it, but its original name remains a mystery, because when they found the city its founders had already abandoned it for more than 500 years. The Aztecs thought it wasn´t possible for humans to have built such grand structures, so they called it "The city of gods". Climbing the pyramids you will have an incredible view over the whole area, which influenced both Rivera and Kahl´s work.  After enjoying some free time and a lunch break we will go back to Mexico City. On our way we are visiting the Basilica of Guadalupe. Here we will see illustrations from Mexico?s patron saint "La virgin de Guadalupe". After an impressive day we bring you to the hotel. Day 3    Mexico City - Frida Tour

After breakfast you will be enchanted by the world of Frida Kahlo. We drive you to the romantic district Coyoacan where you have the chance to see the home where she was born and lived for most of her life, now known as the "Casa Azul", the blue house. Here we will see her personal collections and furniture that remain from the time she shared the house with her muralist husband Diego Rivera and you can still feel the presence of Frida. Afterwards we will visit the "Trotsky's House Museum", which is situated in the next neighbourhood. After lunch we enjoy a short walk through the Frida Kahlo Park and get to the "Dolores Olmedo House Museum" with it?s worldwide biggest collection of Frida Kahlos and Diego Riveras work. After an interesting day with many new impressions we?ll bring you back to your hotel. Accommodation.

Day 4    Mexico City - Diego Tour

After breakfast you will see the heart of Mexico City, the "Plaza de la Constitución", also known as "Zócalo". With 220 m from north to south and 240 m from east to west it remains to the biggest City Centers of the world. Northeast to the Zócalos there was the ceremonial centre of the Aztecs. Today you can see there dancers decorated with feathers and shells moving to drums and showing pre-Hispanic dances. On the east side of the Zócalo the "Palacio Nacional" (Residence of President) is situated, northern the "Catedral Metropolitana" (biggest cathedral of Latin America) in the south there are the offices of the city administration. Now we will have a closer look to the "National Palace" with its historic murals from Diego Rivera. It took him years to paint the Mexican history on the walls of the palace and today they are the main attraction. Then we will pass by Frida´s high school (San Ildefonco), the place where she first met Diego Rivera. Afterwards we will visit the Ministry of Education, where some of Rivera´s most interesting murals were created. After lunch we will go on to the National Art Museum to see some paintings from Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. We will then see "Diego Rivera Mural Museum" where we can admire one of the artist most famous mural: "Dream of a Sunday afternoon at popular grove". In the evening we bring you back to your hotel.

Day 5    Mexico City - San Ángel - Mexico City

After breakfast we will begin our tour with a visit to the national museum of Anthropology. It was opened in 1964 and today it is one of the worlds? most famous and most beautiful museums housing a huge number of pre-colonial treasures that influenced the work of both Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Afterwards we will continue to San Angel. On the way there we will pass UNAM (National University), where you can admire works by O?Gorman as well as Diego Rivera?s decoration of the Olympic stadium. In San Angel you will visit Diego Rivera's studio, which is now an art gallery and cultural centre. San Angel is home to many restaurants and boutiques, which offer excellent examples of Mexican handicrafts. It?s the most beautiful district of Mexico City and you will enjoy old trees, flower covered walls and every Saturday there is the "Bazar del Sabado", a famous touristy market. 800 m west we find the "Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo". Here lived and worked the famous couple from 1934-40 and we will see Diego?s paintings, photos, masks, and personal objects. The afternoon is free and we recommend you to relax in a romantic café and enjoy the particular spirit of San Angel. About 7 pm we bring you back to your hotel. Accommodation.
